Models in Clay
An artist's work in progress is very interesting to me. This is the stage where you see the thought process behind the idea of a sculpture. In its humble beginning, a sculpture is messy, incomplete, raw. Many times, the finished product ends up being far different from its infancy fleshing-out phase. When I start a sculpture, I very rarely sketch the idea—I'd rather let the clay take on a shape and story of its own. It's about the journey.
